WORT: UW participates in Paris Climate Change Conference

GHI Director Jonathan Patz and the Law School's Sumudu Atapattu visit with WORT about forced migration, the health effects of climate change, and the U.N. climate summit in Paris.

GHI Director Jonathan Patz and Sumudu Atapattu from the School of Law visited with WORT’s “A Public Affair” Monday, November 30, about the implications of climate change for health and humanity and why the United Nations’ climate talks in Paris are vital. Patz and Atapattu will be in Paris during the talks.
Patz will lead a session on energy and health at a World Health Organization side conference to the 21st Conference of the Parties and has worked with WHO to create country-by-country profiles of how climate change will affect health and the benefits of reducing fossil fuel emissions.
