Long delays prescribing new antibiotics hinder market for needed drugs
U.S. hospitals wait over a year on average to begin prescribing newly developed antibiotics, a delay that might threaten the supply or discourage future development of needed drugs. Warren Rose, a professor in the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy, studied this delay and its consequences.
