Yoshihiro Kawaoka, a researcher from UW-Madison’s School of Veterinary Medicine and member of the GHI Advisory, to receive Japan Academy award on June 27, 2016 for his fundamental studies of the influenza virus leading to improved vaccines and better understanding of pandemic flu.
