The Initiative for Health-Oriented Transportation (HOT) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Global Health Institute is now hiring a research associate.
The successful candidate will join a global research program, Complete Urban Systems for Sustainability and Health, funded by the Wellcome Trust. The London-based Wellcome Trust. launched a near $14 million partnership in February to understand how cities around the world can be transformed to equitably support healthier lives while also protecting the planet. The Global Health Institute joined the project and researchers around the world to help determine how alternative transportation improves health in six international cities.
Job duties for the research associate include: writing analyses of transportation and health data; contributing to the development of statistical software packages in the programming languages R and python, and reviewing the transportation health literature for discussion at the monthly Health-Oriented Transportation meeting.
