Act Now: Sustain Global Health Institute

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

This giving season, please consider donating to sustain GHI’s trailblazing work that pilots new approaches to research, education, and outreach in Wisconsin and beyond. Through our collaborative and innovative One Health Center (OHC) Network, we promote UW faculty research internationally and facilitate undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral programming, field courses, and strategic exchanges to boost innovation and health for all.

The GHI OHC Network is built on strategic relationships with academia, governments, industry, and NGOs to offer UW students and trainees a broader understanding of health and disease and provides researchers with deeper dimensions to their projects. There are currently OHCs and projects in various stages around the world located in emerging and infectious disease “hot spots:” Colombia, India, Mexico, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and South Africa.

International partnerships enable GHI’s implementation of long-term projects with sustained impact, addressing root causes of health issues and promoting lasting change. GHI places a strong emphasis on addressing health disparities and promoting social justice in global health initiatives. Our OHC Network  actively engages local and global communities in its research initiatives. This community engagement ensures our research and interventions are culturally sensitive, sustainable, and responsive to the specific needs of diverse populations.

GHI has partners from different disciplines and regions, bringing unique perspectives and methodologies, leading to more innovative and effective research outcomes. By collaborating with international partners, GHI is given access to diverse populations and settings, enhancing the generalizability and relevance of research findings. GHI’s partnerships also focus on building capacity in partner countries by offering training programs, workshops, and educational opportunities. These initiatives aim to enhance the skills and knowledge of health professionals, researchers, and community leaders around the world.

Our partnered initiatives expand the Wisconsin Idea and raise awareness about critical health issues, influence public health agendas, and leverage the credibility and networks of UW-Madison.

We are grateful to partners like you whoenable GHI to achieve new heights. Your investment touches lives close to home, wherever that may be, and around the world.  Every gift, regardless of size, makes a significant difference. Donating is simple. A one-time contribution or recurring gift can be set up online at https://ghi.wisc.edu/support-ghi/

Gracias, and On, Wisconsin!
