“If all viruses suddenly disappeared, the world would be a wonderful place for about a day and a half, and then we’d all die – that’s the bottom line,” says Tony Goldberg, GHI Advisory Committee member. “All the essential things they do in the world far outweigh the bad things.”
There have been 23,454 positive cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin as of Wednesday, according to the state Department of Health Services. That’s an increase of 256 cases from the day before.
GHI Director Jonathan Patz has been part of the data group.
“If this isn’t the wake-up call, nothing is going to be,” says Tony Goldberg, a professor of epidemiology at UW and a GHI Advisor Committee member.
