The University of Wisconsin-Madison will host its fourth cohort of rising African leaders beginning June 19 for a six-week academic and leadership institute, a program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.

In Wisconsin, Native Americans suffer from sharp health disparities. A recent report found American Indian and Alaska Natives were “vastly underrepresented in American medical schools.” Danielle Yancey, the first full-time director for the Native American Center for Health Professions, is looking to address that.
The awards are intended for international travel costs to bring YALI-MWF alumni to Madison or to support the costs of sending Madison-area professionals abroad. The deadline to submit an application is February 15, 2019.
Proposals for both opportunities are due Monday, March 4 at 5 p.m.
