Join WUD Global Connections for their weekly program, Afternoon Conversation Series, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Friday, April 17, in Prairie Fire (Union South), to hear women of microenterprise group Sumak Muyo tell their story.
Ines Bonilla, Monica Morales and Flora Yepez are visiting UW-Madison from the village of La Calera, Ecuador, to learn and share their experiences developing a successful microenterprise in rural Ecuador to support their families and community. They are partners with The Wisconsin Without Borders Marketplace (WWBM) and Community Heralth and Wellbeing through Design and Microenterprise Project, a joint effort of the School of Human Ecology and the Global Health Institute. WWBM , a student organization, works with community partners around the world to develop small businesses in order to allow them to better the lives of their families and communities.
The women will sell jewelry, textiles and leather goods from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, on library mall.
