The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s MOOC program, short for Massive Open Online Courses, is enrolling students for the “Changing Weather and Climate in the Great Lakes Region” course until March 30.

This 4-week course will feature a new season each week through short lectures and activities covering Great Lakes weather, observed changes in the climate and societal impacts of climate change. The course will discuss from NOAA’s National Weather Service (NWS) Weather-Ready Nation initiative as well as findings from the recent National Climate Assessment and the Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts (WICCI).

The majority of the course is focused on climate change education and climate mitigation sustainability. The course will also share data and discuss how people and communities affected by climate changes can adjust to new weather conditions.

To sign up for this MOOC or for more information about the course, please visit the MOOCs website.
