Dr. Haq was the founding director of the UW Center for Global Health from 2005-2011. The Center catalyzed UW faculty to create a rich spectrum of interdisciplinary global health courses and field programs for hundreds of students from the undergraduate to post-graduate levels, and was the precursor to the Global Health Institute.

Cynthia Haq MD is also a Professor of Family Medicine and Population Health Sciences at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Over the course of her career, she has served as a champion for primary health care within the US and abroad, and has created numerous programs to improve health for disadvantaged populations.
