Lina Moses is an epidemiologist who worked tirelessly in Kenema, Sierra Leone during the West African Ebola epidemic, and was featured in WIRED Magazine for her work. She serves on the Technical & Scienti c Advisory board for Ebola Survivor Corps, and shares ESC’s passion for community-level solutions to complex health issues.
Moses will recount her year on the ground during the worst Ebola epidemic in history. She argues that Ebola Virus Disease doesn’t emerge out of the darkest reaches of the African jungle, but is a man- made disaster fueled by war, imbalanced economic development, and failed health systems. She will also propose ways for a more compassionate and e ective epidemic response in an era where global health security, quarantines, and politics can take priority over individuals.
A cash bar reception will follow at Oliver’s Public House at 8:00 p.m. where you will have a chance to chat with Dr. Moses and the Ebola Survivor Corps team.
