The University of Wisconsin-Madison Global Health Institute (GHI) utilizes the full breadth and depth of campus expertise to tackle today’s pressing global health problems and educate a new cadre of global health scholars. Led by Director Jonathan Patz, GHI is committed to collaboration across campus, Wisconsin and the world. With 21 schools, colleges and institutes located on a central campus, UW-Madison is uniquely positioned to improve health and well-being holistically. We foster genuine interdisciplinary partnerships between researchers, students and communities, looking at today’s problems from multiple perspectives.
This creates a dynamic environment where the best and brightest students can dive deeply into global health, as learners and practitioners.
Graduate and undergraduate students from a wealth of disciplines address challenges that range from access to health care, clean water and adequate food, to women’s empowerment, climate change and zoonotic diseases that can move between animals and humans.
